KEZIA’s curious eye, keen imagination and cinematic storytelling adds a certain magic to her films.
Starting with a bang, KEZIA’s first-ever spot was featured in the Saatchi & Saatchi Young Directors showcase and picked up best commercial at the L.A. Shorts Fest, she was awarded Young Director of the Year at The Kodak Gongs, Sydney.
Fifteen years later: KEZIA has shot all over the world and won numerous awards, including Golds at the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival, D&AD, The One Show & AWARD, and was a Cannes Lions Finalist.
KEZIA’s most recent short, ‘Nurse Me’, screened at international festivals including BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica in the UK and OSCAR accredited HollyShorts Film Festival in Hollywood.
Since, the film has been acquired by Rialto Channel, Air New Zealand and Shorts International. Since watching Fred Astaire & Ginger Rodgers musicals as a child, KEZIA has had a fascination with dance on film.
Originally from seaside Devonport, New Zealand, KEZIA loves the ocean and is addicted to taking photographs. For over 23 years KEZIA has always carried a camera, recording scenes of daily life, blurring the line between street photography, documentary and art. She has been the subject of a Daily Photo, and sometimes more than one every day for over 23 years, since 1997 (Instagram: @thekezialibrary).
KEZIA has a BFA in Intermedia from Elam School of Fine Art, Auckland University, with papers in Electronic Music, Art History, TV and Film Studies.
